White oaks are categorized by having lots of acorns, can be up to a 100 feet wide with their foliage. Have a light gray bark. White oak are known for having such a plush foliage that caterpillars of all sorts eat from this kind of tree more than any other. Caterpillars do not aggressively destroy these trees but may be considered a pest if the heavy damage occurs.
